Post New York (2007)

about

Made in 2007, I exclusively used a Dave Smith Mono Evolver synth with multiple overdubs and programmed the drums in the spare bedroom of my old craftsman house near the Angeles National Forest.

Instead of including it on the Footsteps in the Sky EP I decided to reserve it for a longer form album. But when I actually did the album (The Home For Better Living) it went in a more organic direction with live strings, guitars and drums and what not. Post New York didn't quite match and got omitted again. But back in 2007, it wasn't totally omitted. I actually sent it to Rumblefish for the earliest form of YouTube monetization. And then I forgot about it. Someone just hit me up on instagram asking where they can stream this because it's used on a George Foreman knockout video on YouTube and other comments were requesting it too. So I did some digging to find the OG file, mastered it and put together some artwork inspired by Metropolis and assisted by AI. I successfully resisted making any changes to the track in spite of my compulsions. Hope you dig it. Listen LOUD.
